The benefits of reflexology
"Reflexology is a science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in our feet which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body" (Dwight C Byers). By stimulating these reflexes in our every day life, we contribute to the health and wellbeing of our body.
Nerves corresponding to organs, glands and muscles are concentrated in the sole, so by stimulating these nerves on a daily basis it can contribute to improving the health of these organs, glands and muscles.

The reflexology chart below shows which reflex areas represent which parts of your body.
By stimulating these reflexes, it will help to:
- improve nerve and blood supply, and promote the unblocking of nerve impulses
- relieve stress and tension
- bring your body back to its natural balance

The Japanese say the sole of the foot is your second heart. About two-thirds of leg muscles work together to pump blood back towards the heart. Veins concentrate in the sole. Properly pressing & stimulating them promotes blood flow, supporting heart function. This can been seen by the image on the left, following an experiment carried out by the Shizuoka Industrial Technology Centre to compare sole surface temperature on someone who wore Kenkoh health sandals for 30 minutes.
Kenkoh Health Sandals have varying sizes of nodules on the sole to ensure each and every reflex point can be worked, and as you walk or stand, these nodules massage all your reflex points at the same time. When various reflexes are stimulated they induce healing response. If sensitivity or tenderness is experienced, this may indicate an imbalance or congestion and with repeated wear these channels of blocked energy can be cleared, resulting in improved health.
